Youth Chess Tournaments

Our youth chess tournaments are specifically designed to provide a supportive and enriching environment. These tournaments are held in the beautiful Fellowship Hall at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Los Angeles (as photographed), and offer an opportunity for budding chess players to showcase their talents, gain valuable experience, and foster friendships with fellow chess enthusiasts. Join us for an inspiring and age-appropriate chess competition that celebrates the growth and achievements of our talented young members.

TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2025 Clever Fox Spring Invitational

When? March 9, 2025 at 1:30PM

Where? St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Nolte Fellowship Hall, 11555 National Blvd., Los Angeles 90064

The 2025 Clever Fox Spring Invitational, will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 1:30 PM at St. Andrews Church, Nolte Fellowship Hall. The address is 11555 National Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90064. This tournament is exclusive to Clever Fox members (those who have had lessons with us or are currently in our program).

Separate divisions for beginners and advanced players
We will have a separate division for novice / beginners, which will run simultaneously with the intermediate/advanced division. This way we maximize matchups between players of equal ability. Contact me if you're not sure which division your child should compete in.

Swiss Style Tournament
The format will be Swiss style, meaning 3-4 games without clocks, but with 25-30 minute time limits depending on how many rounds we play.

Medals / Trophies for Finalists
The top three finalists in each division will be awarded a medal or trophy!

All Participants receive a prize!
Everyone who competes will receive a special chess themed prize for their courage and willingness to try something new!

Entry Fee
Entry fee is $25.00, which may be paid via cash, check or Zelle to [email protected]. After you have paid your entry fee, please send us a quick email confirming your payment and your intent to join us on the 9th.
